The Africa Postgraduate Scholarship 2025–26 offers tuition fee discounts to self-funded international students from African Union member states who are enrolling in full-time Master’s programmes at the University of Essex. Awards are automatic and based on academic merit. Who can apply? Applicants who are ordinarily resident in a member state of the African Union. Must be self-funded and paying overseas tuition fees. Must be registering for their first year of a full-time taught Master’s programme at Essex in October 2025 or January 2026. What is covered? A tuition fee discount, awarded based on undergraduate academic performance: £6,500 for Egypt residents (2:1 or above) £4,500 for residents of Ghana, Nigeria, and all other African Union member states (academic equivalents apply per country) Eligibility criteria Must hold at least a 2:1 undergraduate degree or equivalent (see document for GPA-specific requirements by country). Students must be ordinarily resident in an AU member state for 3 years prior to course start (from 1 Sept 2022 to 1 Sept 2025). Must not: Be studying fully online via Kaplan/Essex Online.
