The Greg and Susan Walker Endowment supports independent student research in the Earth & Environmental Science department at the University of Pennsylvania. Established in 2006, it funds undergraduate and graduate students pursuing research projects related to their academic programs. 

Who Can Apply? 

  • Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in Earth & Environmental Science programs at Penn. 

 What is Covered? 

  • Financial support to carry out independent research projects. 

  • Funding can be used for materials, travel, or other research-related expenses as justified in the proposal. 

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Must be currently enrolled in an Earth & Environmental Science program at the University of Pennsylvania. 

  • Proposed research must be related to curricular requirements or academic goals. 

How to Apply? 

  • Submit a proposal outlining your research plan and budget. 

  • Proposals are reviewed by a faculty and staff committee within the department. 

  • No formal deadline—proposals are considered on a rolling basis, typically at the start of each academic term.
