The ESO Internship Program 2026 offers a fully funded six-month opportunity for international students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in a world-class scientific environment. Interns will contribute to research projects in astronomy, physics, engineering, IT, and communication while based at the ESO office in Garching, near Munich.

Eligibility Criteria:

Must be a current student or recent graduate in science, engineering, astronomy, IT, or science communication

Broad knowledge and interest in astronomy (stargazing, telescopes, key astronomical objects)

Good knowledge of English and German
