Program: Astronomy  The Department of Astronomy at UW offers financial support primarily through teaching and research assistantships. Although funding is not guaranteed, all students making satisfactory academic progress have historically received support throughout the academic year. Additional funding sources include departmental awards and external fellowships.  Who can apply?   All admitted graduate students in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Washington.  What is covered?  Monthly stipend  Full tuition waiver  Health insurance (through UW employment benefits)  Departmental grants (e.g., Theodor Jacobsen Fund) for travel, training, or publications  External fellowship support (e.g., NSF, NASA, Space Grant) Eligibility criteria  Must be admitted as a graduate student in Astronomy at UW  Must maintain satisfactory academic progress  Must be authorized to work in the U.S  Non-native English speakers must meet spoken English proficiency standards (per Graduate School Policy 5.2)  Must pass criminal background and sexual misconduct disclosures (employment requirement, not tied to admission)  Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and submit official attestation  How to apply No separate application fo...
