The U-M Chemical Biology Ph.D. Program is one of the largest interdepartmental programs in the U.S., offering flexible, interdisciplinary training across departments such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, and Bioengineering. The program is designed to be completed in 5 years and emphasizes independent research. Who Can Apply? Individuals with a strong academic background in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or related fields. Applicants interested in interdisciplinary research in chemical biology. Full funding for 4–5 years, including: Tuition Stipend Health and dental insurance First-year funding is provided via program fellowships (e.g., Chemical Biology Program Fellowship, Rackham Merit Fellowship). Continued support through research assistantships, teaching assistantships (optional), and external fellowships. Eligibility Criteria Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific field.
