All graduate school applicants are considered for financial aid, typically through Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA), Teaching Assistantships (TA), or fellowships. Funding decisions depend on faculty availability and grant resources. All applicants to graduate (MS and PhD) programs in the department Admitted students can apply for TA positions across various departments For students with 20-hour GRA or TA appointments: In-state (Texas resident) tuition rate Tuition Reduction Benefit (TRB) Medical insurance Monthly stipend Must be admitted to a graduate program Must secure a GRA or TA position (based on faculty needs and availability) Must work 20 hours/week as a GRA or TA to qualify for full benefits All Ph.D. applicants are automatically considered for GRA funding through faculty MS students must apply for TA positions each semester Apply for TAs in multiple departments (e.g., Engineering, Math, Physics) to increase chances Applications open February–April for Fall semester Decisions made mid-to-late May Deadline 15 December 2025Who Can Apply?
