The FBM Scholarship for Women is the flagship initiative of the Opekete Foundation, created in memory of Mrs. Florence Bamidele Makanjuola. The scholarship supports female Nigerian students in nursing, teaching, or STEM-related fields, especially those from vulnerable and underserved communities. 

Who Can Apply? 

  • Female Nigerian citizens 

  • Must be enrolled in or admitted to a public Senior Secondary School or public university 

  • Intending to study Nursing or Teaching in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields 

What is Covered? 

  • Secondary School students: Up to ₦350,000 per annum 

  • University students: Up to ₦650,000 per annum 

Eligibility Criteria 

For Secondary School Applicants: 

  • Minimum of 5 distinctions (A or B) in English, Mathematics, and any other 3 major subjects in Junior WAEC 

For University Applicants: 

  • Minimum of 5 distinctions (A1 – B3) in English, Mathematics, and 3 other major subjects in WAEC/NECO (one sitting) 

  • Must meet the required JAMB cut-off score for the chosen course and university
