The Aquatic Ecology and Systematics Lab at Western Kentucky University (WKU) is recruiting an M.S. student to contribute to projects on the systematics and conservation of Plecoptera (stoneflies). This opportunity provides hands-on experience in fieldwork, freshwater ecology, molecular biology, and GIS applications.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants with a B.A. or B.S. in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Wildlife & Fisheries, or closely related fields who are interested in stonefly research.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum GPA of 2.75/4.0

Willingness to focus on stonefly research

Strong work ethic and ability to work independently

Experience in field-based coursework and freshwater research

Molecular biology lab skills (e.g., PCR, gel electrophoresis)
-
Experience with ArcGIS is a plus
