Program: Public Health GSPP students can apply for academic employment opportunities as GSIs, Readers, Tutors, or GSRs to gain experience and financial support during their studies. Who can apply? Incoming and current GSPP graduate students (including M.P.P. and Ph.D. students). First-year students are eligible but encouraged to assess their workload before applying. What is covered? Paid academic appointments involving: GSI (Teaching Assistant) – Leads discussions, grades, holds office hours Reader – Grades papers/exams, may attend lectures or hold office hours Tutor – Offers individual/group academic support sessions GSR (Research Assistant) – Conducts faculty-directed research Eligibility criteria Must be enrolled at UC Berkeley and accepted to GSPP GSI roles typically require mastery of course content and teaching ability GSR positions are competitive and usually secured through direct faculty contact How to apply?
