Program: Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences At UC Berkeley, Teaching Assistant roles are officially titled Graduate Student Instructors (GSIs). GSIs assist with discussion or lab sections, grading, holding office hours, and other course-related duties under faculty supervision.  Who Can Apply  Registered UC Berkeley graduate students in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Science (CS) who meet the minimum academic and registration requirements.  What is Covered:  A GSI appointment (half-time, 20 hours/week) includes compensation (stipend and benefits).  Unit credit for enrolling in a required teaching seminar (EE 375 or CS 375).  Eligibility Criteria Must be registered and enrolled in at least 12 units.  Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Must have no more than two Incomplete grades.  Must be making satisfactory progress toward the degree.  First-time GSIs must:  Attend a New ASE Orientation.  Complete a 300-level teaching seminar (EE 375 or CS 375).  Attend the Teaching Conference for new GSIs (and international GSI conference if applicable).  Successfully complete an online course on professional standards and ethics in teaching.  How to Apply Applications are managed online — links are provided in the guid...
