Program: Economics   The primary financial aid for graduate students in Economics is through Teaching Assistantships (TAs). Additional funding options include Research Assistantships (RAs), fellowships, awards, and paid internships. All admitted students are automatically considered for fellowships. TAs and RAs are classified as Academic Student Employees (ASEs) and governed by union contracts.  Who Can Apply?  New and continuing PhD students in the Department of Economics.  U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and international students are eligible.  Applicants with promising academic records, teaching ability, or research potential.  Some fellowships have specific focuses (e.g., labor economics, public policy, diversity, demography).  What Is Covered?  Teaching Assistantships:  Stipend (varies by year and responsibility level)  Tuition exemption  Health insurance (with options for family coverage)  Fellowships and Awards:  May include full/partial tuition coverage Additional stipend for living expenses  Paid internships: Offered year-round in local businesses and government agencies  Paper grading roles: Paid opportunities arranged through the department  Eligibility Criteria  Enrolled as a gra...
