Assistantship Program in Economics - Cornell University

Program: Economics Cornell University offers assistantships to full-time Ph.D. and research master’s students to support their academic progress and the university’s teaching and research mission. These roles include Teaching Assistant (TA), Research Assistant (RA), Graduate Assistant (GA), and Graduate Research Assistant (GRA).  Who Can Apply?  Only full-time Ph.D. and research master’s students are eligible for assistantships. International students may also be considered, but must meet English language requirements for teaching roles.  What is Covered?  Students on full assistantships receive:  A stipend  Full tuition credit at the research degree rate  Cornell individual student health insurance  Some departments may offer additional stipend supplements or summer appointments.  Eligibility Criteria Must be a full-time Ph.D. or research master’s student  Must be appointed by a department, field, or Principal Investigator (PI)  TAs must not exceed an average of 15 hours per week for base stipend  International students must complete a language assessment for TA roles if English is not their first language  How to Apply?  There is no separate application for assistantships.
