Assistantships are financial support arrangements for full-time Ph.D. and research master’s students, combining academic work (teaching, research, or administrative tasks) with graduate education. They include four types: Teaching Assistant (TA), Research Assistant (RA), Graduate Assistant (GA), and Graduate Research Assistant (GRA). Full-time Ph.D. and research master’s students. Open to both domestic and international students (with special language requirements for TAs from non-English-speaking countries). A stipend Full tuition credit at the research degree rate Cornell student health insurance Enrollment in a full-time Ph.D. or research master’s program For TA roles: English proficiency is required; international students must undergo a language assessment if English is not their first language Assistantships are awarded based on academic alignment and departmental needs No separate application is required. 15 November 2025 Who can apply?
